On demand bar coded wristbands

Citizen Systems Europe has launched the CLP-631, a new label printer developed to permit users in the hospitality sector to print coded wristbands on demand.

It allows easy changing of printer media, meaning - for example - that wristbands can be quickly swapped to allow different colours or formats to be used for different events. Additionally, bar coded labels allow payment to be taken upon entry for items such as food and drink.

The CLP-631 can print a 300mm long wristband in three seconds and, in addition to 2D barcodes holding information such as access restrictions or the number of drinks pre-purchased, is ideal for printing photo-quality images on the wristbands and thus opening up opportunities for branding.

Designed to be used as either a stand-alone or networked device, it has an internal power supply, standard parallel, serial and USB ports, internal Ethernet option and can be used with a wide range of standard and specialised media. Options include an auto-cutter and label peeler.
